HVAC systems repair update. Symptoms"not cooling well"
Found the last few years coil insulation on the interior coming off fairly regular in many brands the last few years, and no brand seems to be immune. Before you pay a fortune for a tech to charge with refrigerant and in this case wrongly so, check the coil.
Most of these systems are new, but a minor problem to repair.
Found the last few years coil insulation on the interior coming off fairly regular in many brands the last few years, and no brand seems to be immune. Before you pay a fortune for a tech to charge with refrigerant and in this case wrongly so, check the coil.
Most of these systems are new, but a minor problem to repair.
In this case insulation was blocking almost 30 percent area of the coil. Easy repair and then back into service. Bad air flow conditions are often mistaken with a "low refrigerant charge", make sure most interior vents are open and filter is clean. This system was very new. Dissapointing from the manufacturers standpoint, this is why installers should have a good warranty.

Often times your radiant heating can have air buildup in the system and not open or close valves off the thermostat. If some rooms dont have heat you may need a new make-up water valve,added backflow unit for safety,and a system fill up. Then you can work your thermosats and take some floor temps, see which valves may need flow adjustments and or actuator valves(zone valves) to be tested and or replaced.
Many times you have a commercial bath room that ends up totally different. A couple years ago we had to cut out nearly the entire slab in that new room to repipe the entire set up. This job was drawn without a requirement to reipipe the building. As soon as we put any water in the old system, it was leaking badly.
