AIR CONDITIONING AND INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Indoor air quality is probably the most important factor in our home and
offices today. The air we breathe is polluted and tolerated by our immune system
daily and sometimes in large quantities. The outdoor air is where we should
start. Common sense says that the indoor air will always be worse as a result
of outdoor air pollutants, contaminants, chemical particulates and the like.
Whatever we do to the air in the interior of the buildings we occupy, we should always
remember we are already handling that air most of the time for heating and air
conditioning anyway, so let's clean it up. A variety of indoor air purifiers,
ultra violet filters and treatments, air washers, filters, hepa rated particle
removal elements, electrostatic, electronic, ionization modules, humidifiers, and
air cleansing agents have been introduced into the market the last few years. A
consumer is only to wonder what is the right choice.
The right choice is to asess the use, care and cost of each desired application in a quantitative way. What, in effect, would be a good solution for indoor air quality enhancement in one building will usually differ in another. Air cleaners of any kind are always recommended for air conditioning and forced air heating applications. Indoor air humidifiers are also recommended in almost all forced air heating applications in a dry climate. For an estimate on what would be good for your building email us!
